Hobbs – Tuscany

Tuscany Silk

Hobbs Tuscany Silk Batting is soft and supple, quilts magnificently by hand or machine, and drapes like no other batting. The luxurious feel and lightweight nature of this batting is ideal for both quilts and garments.

Hobbs Tuscany Silk Batting breathes naturally, making it an excellent choice for airy, lightweight quilts and coverlets, and while it’s a ‘cool’ quilt, it can also provide excellent warmth.

Hobbs Tuscany Silk Batting is a blend of 90% very fine imported silk filaments and 10% fine polyester, ingredients which are carded and bonded to help retard bearding and fiber migration. And, unlike other silk battings, this batting doesn’t need to be handled with gloves or encased in cheesecloth.

Tuscany Cotton Wool

Hobbs Tuscany Cotton Wool Batting is a wonderful blend of 80% fine cotton and 20% superwashed wool. It is designed for hand quilting, as well as for machine and long-arm projects, and resists bunching and fiber migration

The addition of the wool adds a wonderful loft, which gives greater detail to the stitching pattern, and the wool also lends a nice drape and softness without the stability of the batting being compromised. Hobbs Tuscany Cotton Wool Batting is perfect for bed quilts and as a second layer of batting (behind Hobbs’ Tuscany 100% Wool Batting).

Hobbs Tuscany Cotton Wool Batting is specifically designed to be used with medium or dark-colored fabrics. If used with white or very light fabrics, the wool and unbleached cotton can slightly darken the light colors.

Cotton Wool, 80/20 x 96 wide by 27.4 meters $409.52
